“The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires” is a piece which is composed in time period between 1965 and 1970 year and consists of four movements which represents each season - spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Violin soloist Konstantīns Paturskis currently is playing in a chamber orchestra “Kremerata Baltica“, string quartet ReDo, is academic orchestra “B-Sharp“ principal and also is obtaining master of arts degree in chamber music in Jazeps Vitols Latvian Music Academy.
Oskars Stroks is a latvian composer who has composed over 300 tango music pieces and was known as “tango king”. Had concerts over the world - in France, Germany, China, Japan, Singapore, Jamaica, his compositions had been recorded at such as companies as Columbia, Electrocord, Syrena, Electro, HMV and others.
In nowadays his music is seldom performed and that’s why we want to bring his music up again, especially when Latvia celebrates its 100th birthday.
We will perform three pieces which are arranged by our own orchestra conductor - Artūrs Gailis and are full of joy and happiness.
“Misa a Buenos Aires“ or also known as Misatango is composed for string orchestra, mixed choir, mezzo soprano, piano and accordion. It’s different between other mesa’s with it’s magnificent musical language and that in every movement there’s tango rhythm and harmonies with interesting and unusual techniques which are not allowed in classical mesa but makes this mesa a unique example in music history all around world.
